I have a strange internal thermostat. It’s picky to no end. Most of the time, I’m sweating, no matter how cool the place is. So what I end up doing is making my apartment glacial and hiding under the covers. Then as I start to get too hot, I poke certain body parts out until the perfect balance is achieved. It’s a tedious process but it’s the only way I can sleep. So they might have had me in mind when they came up with this sleeping bag. It features four horizontal zippers which can be used as vents. They are placed near the ankles, knees, waist, and chest and allow the camper to open them in various combinations for the optimal temperature adjustment. Which is great because hey, you don’t have any sort of control over the outside temperature, so something like this is essential. Comfort of course comes at a price, which in this case is $ 120. Mind you, that’s almost on par with a regular sleeping bag anyway, so you’re not paint much of a premium.

We have already seen world’s most expensive expensive bicycles besides the Audi e-bike recently. From bikes made of gold and silver to those made from carbon fiber and titanium, we have seen it all. Now, after BMW, Audi, Range Rover and Mercedes bikes, another iconic cars manufacturer has unveiled its high-en bicycle built out of stainless steel, the DeLorean Bicycle. Well, you might be awestruck to hear the word DeLorean if you admired the movie the ‘Back to the Future.’ Yes, the DeLorean Bicycle, which is priced at $ 5,500, comes from the same tradition of the DeLorean DMC-12, which was featured in the Zemeckis film.

The DeLorean Bicycle

DeLorean Bicycle comes from the DeLorean Motor Company, which manufactured the DMC-12 and discontinued its production due to bankruptcy in 1982. Thus, the DeLorean DMC-12, which was produced only in 10K units, is still one of the most sought after antique cars in the world. For buying a DeLorean DMC-12, if available, you will have to pay around double the original price of $ 25,000. It is here the CEO of the motor company Stephen Wynne and Marc Moore, a cyclist and former owner of the DeLorean wanted to build a bicycle just like the namesake car.

Pick up a DeLorean for just $ 5,500

According to its manufacturer, stainless steel is the thing that attaches the bicycle with the old DeLorean car. Hence, they conceptualized the bicycle with the stainless steel as the only choice for its body. It has been fairly new to use stainless steel for a bicycle, but it was later proven as a brilliant option, the company says. The sturdy and smooth material will give a really new experience for riders, who mainly require smoothness, stiffness, durability and weight for the bicycle.

Unique Gear Mechanism

The DeLorean Bicycle provides complete road isolation while moving on various terrains. It also allows full power to go into the pedals thanks to it stiff body. The bike faces no threat of corrosion and it touts low impact resistance and ease of repair. Better weight of the bicycle, though less attached to the ride quality, provides overall ride performance and feel to the rider. DeLorean Motor Company has applied the Italian-made Columbus XCR tubing, which is known as the most supreme stainless steel material for building bicycle frames.

Overall, the DeLorean Bicycle will be a matter of pride for the rider. If you ever owned or own a DeLorean car, you should buy a unit of the bicycle at least for a showoff. The bike also has a pretty superb design with strong and powerful wheels. The company is to unveil various models of the bicycle; yet, as of now only one model called the DeLorean Anyday is shown on its site as available for grabs. This model makes use of a belt drive apart from the old-school chain. Two other models the DeLorean Speed and DeLorean Cruise are on way. Yes, like the 1980’s DeLorean car, the DeLorean Bicycle also comes for an expansive deal, i.e. $ 5,495.

When it comes to summer destinations, some rich folks avoid the lakes and beaches and head for somewhere more…strenuous, a Western ranch. One such character is Chuck Pfeifer, actor, decorated war hero, and best friend to Oliver Stone. The strapping West Point grad, who once served as the face of Winston Cigarettes, just turned 71 this year and has finally put his Montana ranch up for sale. The 853-acre spread, dubbed Confluence Ranch, is a sportsman’s paradise, with hunting ground for both fowl and whitetail deer, along with a pair of streams perfect for trout fishing. The improvements to the property are also of the sporting variety, which is to say modest, a 10-year-old stacked log hunting lodge and a barn. The new-to-market property is listed for $ 2.8M.

Yes, that’s a chocolate shot. It’s made by a company called Zotter. It’s kind of like an alcohol shot that you see in bars, except with less alcohol and more chocolate. Well… no alcohol. Just chocolate. But hey, it comes in a bunch of flavours, like coconut, almost, and mandarin. Each shot is 12 ml, which really isn’t a whole lot. But hey, it’s a shot of fair-trade certified organic ganache, which only stays fresh for 4 weeks due to its lack of preservatives. Which almost makes the €2,50 justifiable.

If you find a dozen ways of earning bucks, then the world and his wife are ready with hundred more ways to break the bank! Or so it seems. Dresses, cars, gems- we have seen fetch thousands of dollars, and in a surprising new revelation, hot dogs, too, appear to have entered the bandwagon. Cherished and loved by gourmands around the world as one of the most delicious mid-day meals, the hot dog has off late started acting pricey. We ran a story on the $ 2000 cognac soaked world’s most expensive hot dog. There have also been reports of a $ 80 foot-long delicacy with exotic trimmings and truffle shavings. The $ 69 hotdog by New York restaurant Serendipity 3 was another big stunner. And now a latest hot dog strips them all off the world’s most expensive hot dog title. Created by hot dog purveyor Juliano, the piece sets you back $ 1,501.

And so, let us all get down to the next obvious question. How come a piece of hot dog flaunts such an outrageous price tag? The quarter pound all beef beauty, dubbed theOnedog, is topped with an amazing combination of gold flakes, lobster tail and saffron aioli. The saffron and lobster tail, according to Juliano, are expensive spices. Available in a $ 66 pouch, Juliano prepared the aioli out of them. The edible gold flakes were used to garnish the breathtakingly high priced snack. “It’s just like a surf and turf theme. It’s delicious” Juliano quipped.

Weird as it may sound, Juliano’s idea is actually underlined by a great cause- raising money for the homeless. The idea came to Juliano a month or so ago, followed by a random tweeting session. Bids flew left, right and center and within an hour, the prices had shot up to $ 1500. For the one dollar addition, which makes the hot dog worth $ 1501, Juliano had no explainable reasons!

History in the making

Wondering who actually dug their teeth into Juliano’s creation? Sharon Bennett Goodson was the first buyer followed by anonymous four. Sharon apparently chose to buy the hot dog because the money went for a good cause. The expensive hot dog aside, Sharon took home five complimentary napkins. While a good majority of us may not be as lucky as Sharon, it still feels good to see, how the word charity is driving the world to its very extremes!
